Often it is useful to know the type and
version of the server your web is running on and the version of the
FrontPage Extensions. This kind of information can help tech support
resolve publishing problems where the local web looks and operates
differently than the published web. To verify the Server extensions, bring
up the live web up in FP2002. You can do this by bringing up FrontPage and
selecting the Open Web... menu from the File menu.

Then enter your web site address (i.e., http://myweb.com/)
and press the "OK" button. You will then likely be asked for a username
and password. Enter it and continue.

Once the web is up in FrontPage, go to the Tools->Web
Settings... menu

and take note of the server and extensions information
on the General tab. Here is an quick explanation of some of the items in
this dialog and why they might be important.

Web Server - The name of web server,
this maybe different than you expect if you have multiple domains assigned
to this server or your are publishing to subwebs. This may help you debug
a default page problem.
FrontPage Server Extensions Version
- FrontPage 2000 extensions are 4.0.x and FrontPage 2002 extensions are
5.0.x. Where the "x" is the extensions build number. At the time of this
writing, the latest build number for FrontPage 2002 extensions is 4330.
This is important when choosing a Super Theme version ("FP2000/FP2002
Extensions"
Super Theme can operate on server running 4.0 or 5.0 FP server extensions,
whereas, a "FP2002 Extensions" Super Theme will only operate correctly on a
server with 5.0 FP server extensions)
